Dear Reader,
Although Kids Inspire Difference strives to empower, engage, and support youth from all around the globe, our headquarters is in the United States, where in 1996, the Academy of American Poets deemed April “National Poetry Month.” The month has since commemorated poets, their art, and the influential parts the two play both culturally and socially– not only in America, but throughout the world. For April, the writers of Kids Inspire Difference tackle the topic of poetry by discussing its relationship to creativity, expression, and social justice and by offering our musings on the contributions of poets who intrigue us. We invite you into intrigue and reflection, communication and contemplation, right along with us.
Zealously yours,
Mya Koffie
Writing Director
